Using a phone you already own?

If you brought your own phone, you'll need a T-Mobile SIM Starter Kit, which contains a new SIM card and an activation code.

Phone Activation—What you’ll need

Your phone

Insert the mini SIM card and battery into the phone. Charge the phone so it's ready to use once it's activated.

Your activation code

Your activation code came with the activation booklet that came with your iPhone. You can retrieve your code (or get a new one) by dialing 1-844-730-5912.

SIM card number

The SIM number is located on the SIM card.

Your IMEI number

You can get your phone’s serial (IMEI) number by dialing *#06# on the phone you want to activate.

You can also locate the IMEI number on the box your phone came in, or inside the phone under the battery.

Transferring service? Have your current phone number

You’ll need to know the existing phone number you wish to transfer to your new Pay-in-Advance plan.

Note: If you purchased a phone or SIM card from 1-800-TMOBILE or T-Mobile.com, it will arrive activated with a Pay As You Go plan with 30 minutes of talk or 30 texts (or any combination of the two that adds up to 30).*

To start your service, simply slip your SIM card into your device. Be sure to add service to this account before your introductory minutes and texts run out.
